History

Station 2 was constructed in the former home of Engine Company 2. Built in 1899, the building housed Richmond’s second city owned fire house.

After moving from 2025 East Main Street, Engine Company 2 was kept in service at 2016 East Main Street until 1962, when a modern fire house replaced this location.

Our ground beef comes from Buffalo Creek Beef one of Virginia’s most humane and well respected farms. We are proud to support a Virginia farm and bring their high standards of quality to you.

Bread

In 1979, Chris and Tuck Carter first opened the doors of a very small Carter’s Bread Company. Their mission was, and still is today, to provide a quality in baking unmatched in the Central Virginia region. Throughout the years, they have given great attention to quality and freshness of the product. Carter’s also pride themselves in providing constant, dependable service to their customers. Carter’s now blankets the states of Virginia and North Carolina, as well as lower Maryland, with fresh route service to restaurants and food services alike.

Greens

Manakintowne Specialty Growers is a family owned and operated farm in Powhatan County, Virginia. Since 1985, they have been growers and suppliers of fresh cut herbs, salad greens, micro greens, edible flowers and specialty vegetables for the best chefs and markets in Central Virginia.

Ice Cream

Homestead Creamery is a small, locally owned dairy processing plant nestled among the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in Burnt Chimney, Virginia. The milk they process comes from two local family farms. homestead Creamery’s goal is to bring dairy products of the highest quality to your table. They believe that quality begins with cleanliness, and their cows are free from milk production hormones.

Sausage

Sausage Craft uses hands-on, artisanal methods to create small batches of sausages, terrines, bacon and other meat products made to order for Virginia restaurants, caterers and retailers. Their products are made from humanely raised meat without added hormones, antibiotics or steroids. No preservatives. No synthetic casings. Sausage Craft only use ingredients that are natural, fresh and flavorful.
